YOUR FIRST POTTERY CLASS
Throwing ceramics on the potter´s wheel and glazing
Our 3-dates-course á 3 hours each at the potter's wheel offers beginners the unique opportunity to learn throwing on the potter's wheel and gain practical experience as well as learn how to glaze your once-fired pieces.
After a short introduction, you will immediately sit down at the potter's wheel in this pottery course.
In Level 1 you will learn how to center clay and throw a vessel.
To "open the clay" and "pull up" walls you will learn as well. You will learn how to trim your pieces and coloring with engobes .
In this course together with a maximum of four people at the potter's wheel, you'll receive intensive supervision to create two to four simple vessels, such as cups and bowls, on the potter's wheel. Attaching handles is also possible.
3 dates: 6.00 – 9.00 p.m.
During the first appointment you will be familiarized with the potter´s wheel and you will turn vessels.
During the second appointment , you trim the vessels. This means that the shape of the vessel is refined and perfected.
During the third appointment , two weeks later, you will glaze the vessels. A selection of glazes is available for this purpose. You will learn how to apply glaze to vessels using a brush or by dipping and pouring. This will make your vessels suitable for daily use with food and dishwasher safe.

We are happy to support you in the course in English as well.
Your clothes should give you freedom of movement and allow you to get dirty. Your fingernails should be a short, practical length.
Children and young people aged 12 and older are also welcome to attend our courses at the potter`s wheel – upon presentation of ID – but only if accompanied by an adult. Young people aged 16 and older are also permitted to attend the course alone.
The price includes firing and glazing the finished products with a transparent glaze. If you do not want a colored glaze, then there will be no additional costs .
In all courses, the workplace and tools are cleaned and tidied up together during the last 10-15 minutes.
Your finished pieces can be picked up from us about four to six weeks later. We will inform you via email as soon as they have been fired. We ask for your understanding that we can't store the fired pieces longer than six weeks. Uncollected items are given away to passersby.
